Eagan, MN – In the past several days, KARE 11 and KSTP have both fact checked the National Republican Congressional Committee's (NRCC) ad against Angie Craig, and found that the ad is false and misleading to voters in the Second Congressional District. KSTP's Truth Test gave the ad a D- "for offering mostly misleading information that leaves a false impression."
"There's absolutely no evidence that Angie Craig, as a Human Resources and Public Relations executive, had anything to do with those cases... In short, this ad can't be verified and it's misleading to average viewers on several counts." - KARE 11, Sept. 18
"The ad ... mostly tries to connect Craig to wrongdoing by former employers with no evidence she was involved. This ad gets a D-minus on the "Truth Test" for offering mostly misleading information that leaves a false impression." - KSTP, Sept. 14
"We are glad local media are continuing to fact check and highlight the blatantly false claims included in this ad," said Mara Kunin, Craig's campaign manager. "As KARE 11 and KSTP confirmed, Angie was not involved in any of the claims mentioned. In one example, Angie had left the company seven years prior to the suit being filed. While Jason Lewis and his Washington allies are prioritizing a baseless smear campaign, Angie Craig is traveling around the Second Congressional District and speaking to voters about what matters most to them, including affordable healthcare, education, vocational training and infrastructure investments."
Craig is a former journalist and healthcare leader who lives with her wife and four sons in Eagan. She is challenging Rep. Jason Lewis in Minnesota’s Second Congressional District. Please visit angiecraig.com to learn more.
