Eagan, MN – Today, KSTP's Truth Test gave the National Republican Congressional Committee's (NRCC) advertisement against Angie Craig a D- "for offering mostly misleading information that leaves a false impression." This follows Entercom - which owns KMNB 102.9, KZJK 104.1, and WCCO 830AM - on Friday afternoon suspending the ad due to its false and misleading claims until they could investigate further."We are grateful to Entercom for working swiftly to prevent any further misleading of voters. Suspending a political advertisement is extremely rare, and this shows just how misleading the NRCC's ad against Angie is," said Mara Kunin, Craig's campaign manager.
"The claims included in the ad are blatantly false. Angie had nothing to do with any of the activities, investigations or legal actions mentioned in the ad and the implication that she owned any of the companies involved is patently false. This is a desperate smear campaign from Jason Lewis's Washington allies.
“Jason Lewis and his Congressional Republican allies have a record of governing that is so bad that they’re out of the gate with false and misleading attacks.
“It is clear that Jason Lewis and his Washington allies will stop at nothing to try to keep this seat. But while they are busy with a frivolous smear campaign, Angie will continue listening to working families about issues that matter most – access to affordable health care, investing in infrastructure, and making vocational skills training programs more available. It's time for both parties to come together to find solutions that will improve the lives for all Minnesotans."
Craig is a former journalist and healthcare leader who lives with her wife and four sons in Eagan. She is challenging Rep. Jason Lewis in Minnesota’s Second Congressional District. Please visit angiecraig.com to learn more.
