Angie Craig Campaign to Release New Ad on Cleaning Up Washington

Eagan, MN – On Saturday, the Angie Craig for Congress campaign will release a new ad focusing on the need to create more transparent campaigns and highlighting Craig's commitment to strengthening campaign finance laws. The ad draws a contrast between Craig and Representative Jason Lewis, who has taken nearly half of his campaign contributions this cycle from special interests.
Lewis has repeatedly voted with the special interests at the expense of his constituents. While more than half of the residents under 65 in the district have a pre-existing condition - like cancer, asthma and diabetes - Lewis accepted more than $30,000 from the pharmaceutical industry and voted for the American Health Care Act (AHCA). The AHCA would have gutted protections that allowed people with pre-existing conditions to have access to affordable health insurance. Additionally, Lewis has taken nearly $100,000 from Wall Street interests, while voting for a tax bill which gave more than 80 percent of its tax breaks to large corporations and the wealthiest five percent of Americans.
Craig has proposed a sweeping reform agenda, Clean Campaigns, Clean Government, aimed at taking corporate money out of our campaigns, making the federal government more transparent, and keeping elected officials working toward the best interests of their constituents. She has pledged to hold at least one town hall-style event per month that is open to the public, with a robust question and answer period.
The ad, which will run on cable, broadcast television and digital streaming services beginning Saturday, is available to view here.
Craig is a former journalist and healthcare leader who lives with her wife and four sons in Eagan. She is challenging Representative Jason Lewis in Minnesota’s Second Congressional District. Please visit angiecraig.com to learn more.
