Eagan, MN – Next week, the Angie Craig for Congress campaign will release its second television ad of the 2018 cycle. The ad focuses on the need to expand access to vocational technical education and apprenticeship programs, as well as tackle the high cost of higher education.

Craig worked two jobs to help pay her way through state college. She and her wife, Cheryl, have four sons. Two are enrolled in traditional four-year colleges, one is in an advanced manufacturing trade program in Arkansas and their youngest is a sophomore at Rosemount High School. In Congress, Craig will work to ensure students in Minnesota have access to more vocational training programs.

“We’ve also learned that college isn’t for everybody,” Craig says in the ad. “Our son, Josh, chose a different path. And he’s enrolled in an advanced manufacturing program. We’ve got to make sure that everyone gets the skills they need. For some, that means affordable college. And for others, it means career or technical training.”

Craig knows we must prioritize investments in vocational education. That means investing in the job skills needed for a 21st Century economy that will allow businesses to hire the workers they need to grow and working families to earn enough to pay the bills again.

Craig has toured several vocational training facilities in the area that serve students in the district.

The ad, which will run on cable, broadcast television and digital streaming services beginning Sept. 10, is available to view here.

Craig is a former journalist and healthcare leader who lives with her wife and four sons in Eagan. She is challenging Rep. Jason Lewis in Minnesota’s Second Congressional District. Please visit angiecraig.com to learn more.
