Eagan, MN – Today, the Angie Craig for Congress campaign released its third television ad of the 2018 cycle. The ad, titled “No One,” focuses on the need to make healthcare more affordable and accessible to families across Minnesota.
Craig grew up in a mobile home park with her single mother and two siblings. At times, her family did not have access to health insurance. Craig spent more than 20 years working in two healthcare manufacturing companies, and at one, she oversaw the employer-sponsored health plans for 16,000 employees for a major Minnesota manufacturer.
“No family, no kid, no one should go without healthcare,” Craig says in the ad. “I’ve made improving healthcare my life’s work. If healthcare isn’t affordable, it’s not accessible. We’ve got to reform our healthcare system and cut costs for people now.”
More than half of non-elderly residents of the Second Congressional District have a pre-existing condition. Despite this, Jason Lewis continues to support gutting their health protections. He joined GOP leaders in voting for the American Health Care Act of 2017, which would raise premiums, gut protections for those with pre-existing conditions and impose an age tax on older Americans. Additionally, he voted against considering an amendment that would prevent insurance plans from charging women higher premiums than men.
The ad, which will run on cable, broadcast television and digital streaming services beginning today, is available to view here.
Craig is a former journalist and healthcare leader who lives with her wife and four sons in Eagan. She is seeking to replace Rep. Jason Lewis in Minnesota’s Second Congressional District. Please visit angiecraig.com to learn more.
