Eagan, MN – Today, the Angie Craig for Congress campaign released a new ad highlighting her commitment to accessibility and transparency. The ad offers a stark contrast with Representative Jason Lewis who since taking office has refused to hold an open public town hall forum and engage directly with the people he represents.
Even in the lead up to Lewis’s vote to gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions and as thousands of Minnesotans reached out to request a meeting with him, he refused to meet and listen to the people who would have been impacted by the legislation. Lewis has held office for nearly two years and has dedicated just one day to public meetings — and even then, he limited the number of people who could participate in the discussion by requiring a ticket issued through his office.
Craig has pledged to hold at least one town hall-style event per month that is open to the public, with a question and answer period, as a member of Congress.
Titled, “Shakopee,” the ad features Craig traveling to towns across Minnesota’s Second District and highlights her commitment to protecting Social Security and Medicare, lowering healthcare costs and increasing transparency in Washington.
Craig is a former journalist and healthcare leader who lives with her wife and four sons in Eagan. She is challenging Rep. Jason Lewis in Minnesota’s Second Congressional District. Please visit angiecraig.com to learn more.
