Eagan, MN – Today, Angie Craig’s campaign released its first television spot for the Second Congressional District. The ad tells the story of Craig’s working class roots, and how that has inspired her to fight for opportunity for all Minnesotans as a member of Congress. She grew up with a single mother and grandmother who worked in a union shoe factory and helped raise Angie and her siblings. At times, her family went without health insurance.

“When we couldn’t afford health insurance, the bills piled up. I worked two jobs to put myself through state college,” Craig says in the ad. “For too many today, hard work just isn’t enough to get ahead. And Washington’s too broken to fix it. That’s got to change.”

Angie spent more than 20 years working in two healthcare manufacturing companies, and at one she oversaw the employer-sponsored health plan. Angie knows that we must work to repair our healthcare system, starting with immediate fixes to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and a Medicare buy in to provide folks a choice and create much needed competition in the individual market place.

The ad, which will run on cable, broadcast television and digital streaming services, is available to view here.

Craig is a former journalist and healthcare leader who lives with her wife and four sons in Eagan. She is challenging Rep. Jason Lewis in Minnesota’s Second Congressional District. Please visit angiecraig.com to learn more.
